I visited Bruno’s Sculpture Gardens at Marysville several times while I was living in Australia. It was a combination of a great driving road, a good breakfast and amazing scenery in one of my favourite Victoria towns.
Bruno’s is such a magical place. It’s like walking into a fantasy land, hidden in the remote rain forest.
Sadly, Bruno’s was almost entirely destroyed in the Black Saturday fires on February 7th 2009. Having searched the internet, there is a lack of good quality, high-resolution photos that really pick up the magic of the place before the fire.
Bruno and family survived the fire and are rebuilding their gardens. They were lucky. 32 people lost their lives and all but 14 of the town’s 400 buildings burnt.
